Nursing

Key information

  • Nursing focuses on providing care and support to individuals and is considered a highly rewarding career within the health care sector. The foundation in Nursing will enhance your English language capabilities and develop your academic skills to help you succeed onto your chosen Nursing degree course. Nursing courses at the University are designed in conjunction with partnership organisations to ensure your academic and professional development meet the needs of any contemporary nursing practice environment.
  • Completing this course gives you both an academic and professional qualification that leads to you becoming a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • As part of the foundation, you will be a student at the University of Dundee straight away. You will study on the same campus and use the same services and accommodation as other University students. The on-campus International College setting is close to University accommodation. In addition, you will receive special support from the ICD team, helping you settle into your new life in Scotland.
  • Classes are small and taught by experienced teaching staff with many years of experience. This means that you will receive individual attention and support from your tutors as you focus on improving your academic skills. In addition to the English modules you will be taking as part of this course to ensure you reach the required English level, you can also make use of the free English language support offered by the University after you finish at the College.
  • This program is available as a joint-CAS program meaning you will receive a single visa for the entirety -- 4 years -- of your program giving you greater freedom for work, remove the need for multiple healthcare fees, and other opportunities from the first year. Typical foundation programs in the UK require separate visas for different program levels.
