Computers affect every part of our lives. Technology is rapidly evolving, and the need for computer scientists to work across almost every industry continues to grow. The international year one in Computing is the first stage in the integrated BSc (Hons) Computing Science degree course.
You will be introduced to a wide range of Computing principles including software engineering, multi-paradigm programming, advanced algorithms and fundamentals of computer systems.
As part of the international year one, you will be a student at the University of Dundee straight away. You will study on the same campus and use the same services and accommodation as other University students. The on-campus International College setting is close to University accommodation. In addition, you will receive special support from the ICD team, helping you settle into your new life in Scotland.
Classes are small and taught by experienced teaching staff with many years of experience. This means that you will receive individual attention and support from your tutors as you focus on improving your academic skills. In addition to the English modules you will be taking as part of this course to ensure you reach the required English level, you can also make use of the free English language support offered by the University after you finish at the College.
This program is available as a joint-CAS program meaning you will receive a single visa for the entirety -- 3 years -- of your program giving you greater freedom for work, remove the need for multiple healthcare fees, and other opportunities from the first year. Typical international year one programs in the UK require separate visas for different program levels.
